During the UAE government media briefing.. A decline in the number of infections in the UAE

Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the spokesperson for the health sector:

• The rate of those who received the first COVID-19 vaccine dose has reached 74.5% of the total population, while 64.3% of the total population have received the two doses.

• The UAE still ranks the first worldwide in daily vaccines doses distribution at a rate of 158.24 doses per 100 people and has administred about 15 million and 500 thousand doses.

• In the previous days, we witnessed a decline in the number of infections in the country, which demonstrates the ability of the health sector and the concerned authorities to control the spread of the virus.

• COVID-19 vaccines are new, and they are still under scientific studies globally to monitor their effectiveness and impact.

• Based on the health sector’s keenness to follow the best ways to protect society, it was necessary to consider the importance of giving a supporting dose to control the pandemic, including the booster dose, which is given after the main doses to stimulate immunity.

• We would like to clarify that EDE technology is an innovative, fast and safe way to detect the possibility of COVID-19 infection through remote analysis without the need for samples, which allows early detection and contributes to limiting the spread of the virus in public places.

• The process of developing and changing vaccines and medicines is continuing in order to reach the appropriate vaccines to counter the genetic mutations that occur in the Coronavirus.

• Booster doses are provided in different types of vaccines, such as seasonal influenza. Therefore, we recommend eligible individuals to take vaccinations after consulting a specialized doctor.

• We urge UAE citizens who wish to travel to check the requirements and procedures at the destination and adhere to them to avoid any penalties or violations applied in these countries.

• We call on the public to adhere to wearing masks, sanitization and avoid crowded places.
