Mohammed bin Zayed issues new resolutions

Mohamed bin Zayed issues resolutions appointing Tawazun to manage procurement for the UAE Armed Forces and Abu Dhabi Police in line with strategic efforts to enable the development of a sustainable national defence industry.

Tawazun will be responsible for managing the procurement and acquisition process for both entities, including administration, approving and awarding projects and contracts, registering suppliers, quality assurance, and related legal and finance matters.

The resolutions also mandate the implementation of the Tawazun Economic Program, which targets the creation of in-country value in the defence and security sectors, supporting economic diversification and local job creation.
