The UAE Government held its regular media briefing to present the developments to the efforts of national authorities to counter COVID-19 pandemic.
During the media briefing, Dr. Omar Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Official Spokesman of the UAE Government, highlighted several statistics and data that reflect the national health situation between 4 to 10 November.
- 894,104 tests were conducted nationwide, which is an 11% increase compared to the same e period last week.
- The total number of deaths as a result of COVID-19 was 15 cases which are 29% less than the previous week. The mortality rate remains at 0.4, which is one of the lowest worldwide.
Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, The spokesman of the National COVID-19 Crisis Recovery Management and Governance Committee:
- The health sector is able to take control of the health situation, which reflects the high number of recoveries in the country.
- Figures and statistics indicate that the UAE is taking sound steps to overcome the global health crisis.
• The success of the planning stage for recovery depends mainly on the community. Everyone is responsible and must continue to adhere to the preventive measures.
- We look forward to successfully pass the planning stage for recovery, which is an important step that highlights the UAE’s competence to ensure the gradual safe return of normal life.
- Many sectors have been affected by the pandemic, including health, economy, tourism, sports, education, aviation, and transportation.
• The indicators of this return showed the readiness to enter the planning stage for recovery, including the gradual return to school seats and workplaces.
- The UAE government proactively managed to contain the situation, which made us reach the stage of a safe and gradual return to the new normal life.
- What is meant by recovery is the method of overcoming the repercussions and impacts of the crises and disasters, to reach a new normal life and adapt to the changes.
