The death of two citizens in a tragic accident

Sharjah Police: Two citizens were killed and a third was seriously injured in a traffic accident that took place yesterday evening, Monday, on “Mahafiz – Nizwa” road in the emirate of Sharjah. The motorist was overspeeding when the left rear tire burst and the vehicle swerved out of control and smashed.

Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdullah Allai, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police stated that the operations room received a report at 4:30 pm yesterday, Monday, about a vehicle crash accident on Mahafiz and Nizwa single lane road. The Police patrols and national ambulance had rushed to the scene upon receiving the report, where it was found that the driver and two of his companions were seriously injured. Two of them had died instantly, while the injured was transferred to the hospital for the treatment.

Sharjah Police General Command expressed its deep regret over the accident and warned against exceeding the speed limits. Motorists are urged to ensure the tires’ safety and mechanical devices of the vehicle before each trip and to avoid being pre-occupied while driving.
