Fine will be doubled in case of repeated violation

Salem Al Zaabi, Acting Director of the Federal Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Prosecution:

• Following the completion of the National Disinfection Program, unfortunately we noticed an increase in violations of safety and health instructions put in place by the UAE government to curb the spread of COVID-19.

• The list of administrative fines and penalties issued by the UAE Attorney- General that was previously announced shall be enforced on violators. We urge the public to stay committed to the health guidelines and precautionary measures.

• We stress on the need to adhere to wearing masks in closed areas, public transportation, commercial centers, when walking in open public areas, private transportation, in workplaces and when moving from one place to another in shared labor accommodations. Taking into account the physical distancing between people in public places and inside shopping centers, restaurants, swimming pools, beaches, etc

• Family visits are limited to first-degree relatives only, while adhering to physical distancing especially with the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases.

• Patients must adhere to the compulsory hospitalization, procedures and instructions of home or private facilities quarantine. In addition to retaking laboratory tests according to the instructions issued by the relevant health authorities.

• The fine will be doubled for those found to be repeating the violation. Third time offenders will be subject to a legal action and could face imprisonment for a period of up to six months or a fine of no less than 100,000.
