MOE has set strict controls for the next academic year

Al Anoud Abdullah Al-Haj, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Education: We have developed a plan on the possibility of re-opening all governmental and private educational institutions, including “nurseries, schools and universities” for the next academic year according to stringent controls and preventive measures, including:

• Checking the body temperature of all working staff.

• Implement physical distancing and reduce class capacity.

• Periodic Sterilization of the buildings.

• Organizing and managing students’ meals in schools and universities.

• Prohibit gatherings and suspending group activities such as: school trips, celebrations, sports and student camps.

• Reducing the bus capacity, to 30%, and measuring the temperature of each student before boarding.

• Prohibit the maintenance services workers access to educational institutions during the presence of the students and the educational staff.

• Organizing the university housing mechanism and allow reopening after fulfilling the specific precautionary measures and requirements.

• Parents are responsible of their children’s health and safety before sending them to school, and should inform the school immediately in the presence of any symptoms, or if the student was in contact with infected people.
