The General Department of Anti-Narcotics\nat Dubai Police achieved a significant milestone in the second quarter of this\nyear by successfully apprehending 49.6% of total suspects arrested in\ndrug-related cases and promoting psychotropic substances across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the same period, their efforts\nalso resulted in substantial seizures, including confiscating 491 kilograms of\ndrugs and 3,333,916 narcotic pills. The seized drugs included cocaine, heroin,\ncrystal meth, opium, marijuana, hashish, and various types of narcotic pills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The announcement was revealed during the\nGeneral Department of Anti-Narcotics performance review meeting for the second\nquarter of the current year, chaired by His Excellency Lieutenant General\nAbdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt. Gen. Al Marri praised the remarkable\nefforts of the teams at the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, emphasizing\ntheir crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the nation,\nprotecting the community from the harmful effects of drugs, and effectively\ncombating drug distribution and capturing dealers, both domestically and\ninternationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statistics demonstrated Dubai\nPolice’s contribution in sharing 50 significant pieces of information with\nmultiple countries during Q2 2023, such as Australia, United Kingdom, Saudi\nArabia, China, Philippines, Kuwait, Germany, India, Greece, United States,\nIndonesia, Pakistan, Thailand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Oman, Qatar, Cambodia,\nSouth Korea, Laos, Malaysia, and Nigeria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The collaborative efforts yielded\nsignificant results, leading to the successful arrest of 28 suspects and the\nseizure of 431 kilograms of drugs, including khat, cocaine, marijuana, and\nheroin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the same period, the department\nsuccessfully detected and blocked 560 social media accounts promoting drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonel Dr. Abdul Rahman Sharaf,\nDirector of Hemaya International Center, reviewed the center’s achievements\nduring Q2 2023, where 28,000 students from 20 different nationalities benefited\nfrom 71 educational and community programs. Furthermore, he confirmed the\ncenter’s awareness campaigns and programs on social media platforms reached an\nimpressive audience of 776,724 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
