Dubai Police, represented by the Anti-Narcotics\nDepartment in the General Department of Criminal Investigations, in\ncollaboration with police stations and strategic partners, apprehended 181\nunlicensed street vendors and seized a number of vehicles used to sell\nvegetables and fruits that did not meet health and safety standards. The\ncrackdown took place from mid-March to April 25th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonel Ali Salem Al Shamsi, Director of\nthe Anti-Infiltrators Department, stated that the arrests were part of the\nDubai Police’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with their partners, to enforce\npublic safety regulations and maintain the city’s image. He added that these\nefforts aim to eliminate any negative aspects, ensuring the highest levels of\nsecurity and safety for community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonel Ali Salem explained that such\nphenomena would continue if community members showed interest and engagement,\nespecially in labour-gathering areas and near their residences. He warned the\npublic against purchasing vegetables, fruits, and other food products from street\nvendors or unlicensed vehicles parked on public roads. He advised dealing only\nwith licensed outlets to secure food needs while preserving their health and\nfood safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonel Ali Salem added that the risks\nof purchasing food products from street vendors or unlicensed vehicles parked\non public roads are significant, as these products may be of unknown origin,\nexpired, and may not have undergone proper quality control checks to ensure\ntheir safety and compliance with standards. In addition, they may violate\nhealth regulations and food safety standards, with poor display and storage\npotentially leading to product damage and serious health risks for consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Major Jassim Mohammed Al\nDuhail, Head of the Violators Control Department, affirmed that Dubai Police\ncontinue to apprehend violators around the clock, conducting well-planned,\nsurprise, and continuous campaigns in all locations in collaboration with\npartners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
