Colonel Dr Hassan Al Suwaidi, Director\nof Ports Police Station, highlighted that they, in collaboration with internal\nand external partners, had prepared a thorough plan to accommodate hundreds of\nvisitors during the Eid Al-Fitr break. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The strategy involved increased\nmaritime security and rescue patrols, jet skis, bicycles, beach security\npatrols, and public safety awareness initiatives,” “The approach\naimed to provide quick and effective responses to emergencies around the clock\nwhile supervising compliance to preserve public safety,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al Suwaidi also pointed out that their\nteams responded to two incidents during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In the first incident, a boat at\nRashid Port caught fire due to an engine explosion after refuelling. Our patrol\nteams promptly collaborated with fire experts to resolve the situation, and no\ninjuries were reported,” he revealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In the second incident, a maritime\nvehicle collided with the Al Maktoum Bridge because of an engine failure. The\nresulting loss of control led to the vehicle striking the bridge, causing minor\ndamage to both the bridge and the vehicle. The maritime patrols managed the\nsituation without any injuries,” he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al Suwaidi encouraged the public,\nparticularly maritime activity enthusiasts, to follow safety instructions and\nguidelines. He also advised beachgoers to follow lifeguard instructions and\navoid the sea during adverse weather and high waves to ensure their well-being.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
