Over the last two years, Dubai Police have arrested\n432 international fugitives wanted for various criminal acts including leading\nor joining a criminal syndicate, premeditated murder, money laundering and\narmed robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The force has also extradited 379 wanted persons to\nthe concerned authorities of 30 different countries over the same period and repatriated\n65 wanted fugitives from abroad for various criminal charges such as\npremeditated murder, armed robbery, assault leading to death, jewellery theft,\nattempted theft, and other financial crimes with total financial claims of\n517,981,823 dirhams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the\nGeneral Department of Criminal Investigation, confirmed that the Wanted Persons\nDepartment had played a vital role in arresting some of the world\u2019s most\nnotorious crime lords with tireless teamwork and utilising sophisticated surveillance\ntechnologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOver the past two years, we have exchanged 1,830 security tips\nwith member states of Interpol through the National Office of the Ministry of\nInterior and carried out successful joint international operations that\ndismantled transnational criminal syndicates and brought down drug and crime\nlords,\u201d Al Jallaf revealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Successful\nOperations <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Last month,\nDubai Police participated with six European countries in Operation’ Desert\nLight’ targeting dozens of high-value targets and drug lords that had come\ntogether to form what was known as a ‘super cartel’, which controlled around\none-third of the cocaine trade in Europe. The Operation led to arresting 49\ndrug kingpins and members of a prolific transnational criminal network involved\nin large-scale drug trafficking and money laundering crimes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2021, Dubai\nPolice captured Moufide \u2018Mouf\u2019 Bouchibi, a French drug lord involved in drug\ntrafficking and smuggling operations across Europe with an estimated annual\nstreet value of 70 million euros ($82.6m). Bouchibi became an international\nkingpin known as \u2018The Ghost\u2019, had been travelling under a false identity and\nhad been on the run for ten years using forged documents when Dubai Police\narrested him and extradited him to France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the same year, the Dubai Police also arrested one of Italy’s most\nwanted criminals, Raffaele Imperiale, an alleged kingpin of the organised crime\nsyndicate ‘Camorra’, which is involved in drug and weapons trafficking crimes\nacross international borders. The force also arrested Imperial’s right-hand man\nRaffaele Mauriello, who is responsible for plotting and executing murders and\nassassinations using unlicensed firearms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The force also brought to justice Michael Paul Moogan, one UK’s most\nwanted criminals, for his alleged role in a large-scale international drug\ntrafficking plot in the Kingdom. Moogan had been on the run for eight years\nwhen the Dubai Police arrested him shortly after receiving a Red notice from\nInterpol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In 2020, the\nforce arrested Denis\nMatoshi, a leader of the Albanian-speaking (KOMPANIA BELLO) criminal group in an\ninternational operation code-named \u2018Los Blancos\u2019.
