Nineteen people were\ninjured in several traffic accidents in Dubai over the last few days, the\nDirector of the General Department of Traffic Police at Dubai Police revealed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brigadier Saif Muhair Al\nMazrouei said most traffic accidents were caused by motorists who failed to\nadhere to traffic laws and regulations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that the first\naccident occurred last Thursday on an internal road along Al Asayel Street\ntoward Discovery Garden, when a minibus swerved and collided with a motorcycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The impact bounced back the motorcycle and flipped over in the middle of\nthe road,” Al Mazrouei said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that the biker was\nseriously injured and was taken to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brig. Al Mazrouei further\nexplained that the second accident happened the same day at a side street in\nSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard area when a SUV veered off the road, hit a\ncement barrier and flipped over in the middle of the road. \u201cTwo women sustained\nminor injuries and the vehicle was also damaged\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Another accident happened on Friday at the Al Maktoum International\nAirport when a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a cement\nbarrier. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the accident,” Brig. Al\nMazrouei added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of Dubai\nTraffic Police stated that the fourth accident occurred on Saturday on Sheikh\nMohammed Bin Zayed Road below Al Muhaisnah Bridge, Abu Dhabi-Bound. “We\nreceived a report on an accident involving a motorcycle and several vehicles,\nwhich was caused by failing to keep a safe distance,” “The crash left\nthe motorcyclist severely injured;” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brig. Al Mazrouei further\nnoted that a father and his son sustained severe injuries when their motorcycle\nflipped over in a desert area on Al Qudra Street. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“On Saturday evening, a sixth accident happened on Sheikh Zayed Road,\nnear Al Khail Metro Station, Dubai-bound, when a minibus suddenly swerved onto\nthe other lane and crashed into a vehicle. The impact made the bus veer off and\nflip over in the middle of the road. The accident left three seriously injured\n“Brig. Al Mazrouei continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brig. Al Mazrouei said the\nseventh accident happened later on the same day on King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al\nSaud Street in front of the Dubai Knowledge Park. The accident involved two\nmotorcycles and two vehicles whose drivers neglected to keep a safe distance,\nresulting in three of them slightly injured and one sustaining serious injuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brig. Al Mazrouei continued\nthat in another accident, a driver was mildly injured in a two-vehicle collision\non Emirates Roa- Sharjah Bound. \u201cThe motorist had failed to keep a safe\ndistance” he revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director of Dubai\nTraffic Police further explained that a pile-up accident involving five\nvehicles on Dubai-Al Ain Road resulted in three mild to severe injuries and\nhuge damages to the vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Primary\ninvestigation attributed the accident to one of the vehicle\u2019s engines breaking\ndown in the middle of the road,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
