{"id":3662,"date":"2018-08-28T11:12:08","date_gmt":"2018-08-28T07:12:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.uaebarq.ae\/en\/?p=3662"},"modified":"2018-08-28T11:13:20","modified_gmt":"2018-08-28T07:13:20","slug":"austria-window-cleaners-left-dangling-on-820ft-skyscraper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uaebarq.ae\/en\/2018\/08\/28\/austria-window-cleaners-left-dangling-on-820ft-skyscraper\/","title":{"rendered":"Window cleaners left dangling on 820ft skyscraper in Austria"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"firstPar\">\n<p>A regular day at work turned into a nightmare ordeal for two window cleaners who were left dangling precariously on the side of a 250m (820ft) skyscraper.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"secondPar\">\n<p>The two men were cleaning windows on the 48th floor of the DC Tower in Vienna, Austria, when their platform stalled and slipped to a 45 degree angle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"thirdPar\">\n<p>These dramatic images show one of the pair clinging to the side of the window-cleaning cradle awaiting help.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fourthPar\">\n<p>They were stranded more than 144m (470ft) above the ground before they were rescued from the skyscraper, which is Austria\u2019s tallest building.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fifthPar\">\n<p>A crowd gathered below the tower as around 30 firefighters secured the cradle with extra cables to prevent it from slipping further in strong winds.<\/p>\n<p>Both men escaped the ordeal unharmed after being directed to a ventilation shaft by emergency responders.
