An eight-year-old boy in the US was pressured into sending his mother\u2019s personal information to gamers playing Fortnite online. Charlie Pearson ended up sending photos of his mother\u2019s driving licence and credit cards in exchange for \u2018v-bucks\u2019.<\/p>\n
The boy said he was getting text messages and phone calls from an anonymous player after chatting to him online. He said he was urged to send pictures of his mother\u2019s personal information, but only if he did it quietly \u2013 and he only did so because he didn\u2019t want to annoy anyone.\u2018I really didn\u2019t want to do it. They just kept on telling me to and then I didn\u2019t want them to get mad at me, so I just did it.\u2019 the boy told NBC<\/p>\n
Charlie was warned: \u2018Remember, don\u2019t tell her \u2013 she will get mad.\u2019. The mother went to the police and was told that unless somebody takes steps to do something with that information, it isn\u2019t a crime to possess it.<\/p>\n
