The Abu Dhabi Department of\nEconomic Development (ADDED) has, subsequent to workers being tested positive\nfor COVID-19, instructed the immediate, temporary closure of about 8 industrial\nfacilities operating in Abu Dhabi. The decision was taken in response to the\ndirectives, issued by Abu Dhabi National Emergency\nCrisis and Disaster Management committee for COVID -19 Pandemic,\nconcerning compliance with the precautionary and preventive measures to limit\nthe spread of COVID-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this context, The\nIndustrial Development Bureau (IDB), in collaboration and coordination with the\nDepartment of Health and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company \u201cSEHA\u201d, followed up\nwith the temporarily closed industrial facilities to conduct comprehensive\nexaminations for all its employees, to ensure their COVID-19 status. Those\nworkers who tested positive, as well as those who were in direct contact with\nthem, were immediately quarantined. The\nfacilities were able to resume activities following the negative testing of the\nbalance of the employees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
HE\nMohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Executive Director of IDB, said: \u201cIt is the responsibility of all members of\nsociety, and in particular the industrial facilities owners, to apply the\nutmost care in communicating health awareness and compliance in order to combat\nthe pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\naddition, ADDED emphasised the importance of contributing to improving\nconditions for the full resumption of economic activities, through full\nadherence to the procedures relative to the pandemic, particularly conducting\nweekly examinations for workers, and receiving the vaccine. Over and above this, the continued adherence\nto social distancing and relevant sterilization activities of both the workers,\nand commercial facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ADDED stressed the stringent\nnon-tolerance policy regarding commercial facilities owners full compliance\nwith the approved preventive decisions, whilst reminding them of the\nramifications for violating these procedures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
HE\nMohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Executive Director of IDB, said that the field\ninspection and surveillance team implement the closure decisions as issued by\nthe Department. These decisions are made\nin accordance with the directives of the competent authorities, as a\nprecautionary and preventive measure to curb the spread of infection among\nworkers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Al Mansouri highlighted that the inspection team\nof IDB, as well as representatives from the relevant authorities, including the\nAbu Dhabi Department of Health, implement periodic field visits to follow up\nthe industrial facilities across Abu Dhabi. \nThese measures have been put into place to ensure the implementation of\nall requirements of activity practice according to the prescribed procedures\nand instructions, especially the compliance of the industrial facilities that\nhave been closed, with the application of precautionary measures and\nexamination of all workers in order to take a decision of reopening them again.\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Engineer\nNabil Saleh Al-Awlaki, Director of Environment, Health and Safety at\nIDB, clarified that the IDB has issued a Business Continuity Guide for the\nindustrial sector. The aim of which is\nto direct industrial facilities to develop business continuity plans, and how\nto apply them in order to reduce the disruption of production operations to the\nminimum, whilst ensuring the implementation of business continuity under the\nrigorous precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus, which could be\nincluded in the facility\u2019s closure. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
