George Clooney, 59, and Julia Roberts, 53, will star in \u201cTicket to Paradise,\u201d a new romantic comedy that will reunite the \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven\u201d stars and longtime friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ol Parker (\u201cThe Best Exotic Marigold Hotel\u201d) will direct the film for Universal Pictures and Working Title. Cameras will roll on the movie later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The actors will play a divorced couple who journey to Bali to stop their daughter from getting hitched. Clooney and Roberts also worked together on \u201cMoney Monster,\u201d a 2016 thriller and Jodie Foster\u2019s directorial effort that received middling reviews but performed respectably at the box office. Clooney recently appeared in Netflix\u2019s \u201cThe Midnight Sky.\u201d Roberts did a season of the Amazon series \u201cHomecoming,\u201dand next she will play Martha Mitchell the TV series \u201cGaslit\u201d and star in \u201cWhite Bird.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oscar-nominee Ted Melfi (\u201cHidden Figures\u201d) wrote the script, which is based on an idea by Parker and Daniel Pipski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title will produce alongside Deborah Balder Stone and Sarah Harvey. Senior Executive Vice President of Production Erik Baiers and Director of Development Lexi Barta will oversee the project on behalf of Universal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clooney is represented by CAA and Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler Feldman & Clark. Roberts is represented by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof + Fishman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
