The Ministry of Health and\nPrevention (MoHAP) has announced the full recovery of an 89-year-old coronavirus\npatient and his 72-year-old wife after receiving necessary treatment at\nAl Kuwait Hospital in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The husband, who was\nsuffering from pre-existing conditions including diabetes, blood pressure and\ncardiomyopathy, and his wife were both tested twice and the results were\nnegative in the two tests, using the polymerase\nchain reaction (PCR) technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thanks to the UAE\u2019s effective\nhealthcare system and the excellent healthcare provided to senior citizens, coupled\nwith the commitment to the global best medical practices, the two patients are\nnow free of any COVID-19 symptoms, the ministry affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Outstanding Healthcare for Senior Citizens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Expressing his happiness with the recovery of\nthe couple, HE Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of\nHealth & Prevention, congratulated the two patients and their family,\nthanking the medical team at Al Kuwait\nHospital for their dedication and sincere efforts being made to offer the best\nhealthcare to all patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Al Owais lauded the directives issued by the wise\nleadership to pay special attention to senior citizens in light of the spread\nof COVID-19, especially those with chronic diseases; where just recently a\nhumanitarian initiative was launched to provide free COVID-19 testing for\nsenior citizens to ensure their health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSince\nthe outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the UAE has been proactive and proved its\nreadiness and capability to deal and cope with all crises and emergencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n From day one, it was very keen to provide\nhighly-qualified medical cadres, advanced medical equipment and strategic\nstockpile of medicines, which shows how the UAE is adopting an exceptional\nstrategy in containing the spread of COVID-19 and preserving the health and\nsafety of all individuals\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Efficiency of Medical Personnel <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n For his part, Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama,\nthe Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and\nPrevention (MoHAP) and Head of\nthe Board of Directors of the Emirates Health Services\nCorporation, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the couple who\nsuccessfully made full recovery despite the fact that the husband is suffering\nfrom preexisting conditions. This sends a rays of hope for other old patients\nwith COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Al Olama thanked the medical cadres at Al\nKuwait Hospital for their strenuous efforts being exerted to provide all forms\nof health and psychological support to patients, lauding the efficiency of the\nUAE\u2019s approved medical protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe high coronavirus recovery rate in\nthe UAE would not have been achieved had it not been for the sustained efforts being\nmade by all medical workers, who set a leading role model in human giving,\nvalor and determination to safeguard the health and safety of society,\u201d he\nfurther said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Al Olama praised the relentless efforts of the\nUAE health sector to handles the COVID-19 crisis.
