Five restaurant workers landed in court on Thursday over the theft of cash, food and juice worth Dhs108,000 from a Bur Dubai restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Asian defendants -a female supervisor, a waiter, a cook, the waiter\u2019s colleague and a cashier teamed up to steal money, food, juice and salads, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The restaurant manager, said on several occasions in March, he noticed there were many clients paying by cash. But at the end of each day, proceeds were less than expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He notified the restaurant owner, who discovered the workers did not register the transaction in the e-system. CCTV footage showed the defendant stealing money from the safe besides edibles and juices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the prosecution’s investigation, all the defendants confessed to the theft and the non-registration the transaction in the e-system. Case continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
